As a design student on a budget, the 5x7ft Photography Backdrop in Solid Color White Screen offered an affordable option for creating clean and professional-looking backgrounds for my digital photography classes. However, my experience with this backdrop revealed a few challenges that, while manageable, required additional effort and time in post-processing.
Affordability and Size:
The standout feature of this backdrop is its affordability, providing a sizable canvas for photography projects at a budget-friendly price. The 5x7ft dimensions offered versatility for various shooting setups, making it an attractive option for amateur photographers and hobbyists.
Textured Surface and Wrinkling Issues:
One notable drawback, however, was the textured surface of the backdrop. The fabric’s texture, while adding a certain character to the photos, created challenges when it came to achieving a completely smooth and even background. Additionally, the backdrop arrived with wrinkles that, unfortunately, proved resistant to traditional methods of removal. The major hurdle in addressing the wrinkles stemmed from the fabric’s synthetic composition, which restricts the use of an iron even at low temperatures. This limitation became a significant inconvenience, as the wrinkles persisted despite various attempts to smooth them out. The inability to iron the fabric was a notable downside, requiring additional time and effort to edit out wrinkles during post-processing.

This is what I wanted all along. I needed this because in order to film/shoot video and photos of things or people with green to it, it has to be shot compositely behind a blue background proper. Putting green and green together does not work. Same with putting blue and blue together. It was essential to my video projects that I needed the blue background backdrop. Getting blue backdrop gloves next.

Like the color. Came quick of course! What I didn’t like is the buyer cutting my material because they were trying to cut something off of it. Hoping the tear doesn’t show up in my photos.

This is a very inexpensive “green screen” backdrop. I bought it for Zoom calls to hide my cluttered and messy office with the picture of a cluttered but organized office.
It comes in a plastic bag, folded. The folds are fairly apparent when you unroll the fabric–which is a kind of woven polyester. The instructions tell you how to iron out the wrinkles, and they work–mostly.
But some caveats:
1. DO NOT USE A HOT IRON. It melts the fabric. I have one spot where the fabric is slightly stiffer because the iron was still too hot. It’s not visible onscreen, but still–even though I tried to be careful, there is very little room for error if your iron is too hot.
2. It takes time + sprayed water + kinda warm-to-hot iron to flatten the wrinkles. I could not get it perfectly flat, but the folds are mostly invisible to the camera.
3. It wrinkles easily if you bunch it up or carry it by hand. Roll it up as you iron it, and carry it to your destination.
This does not come with anything other than the bag with the instructions. If you want to mount this, you’ll have to come up with your own plan. And be careful as you mount it so you don’t wrinkle it again.
Four stars only because it was a pain to iron and probably impossible to get perfectly smooth. Otherwise, it works fine.

Everything with the backdrop looked good for my pictures except it had came with a big cut in the fabric .

I bought this to use for my students’ news broadcast class. It has worked perfectly for this purpose. We have been able to record every segment and key out the green to import our own custom backgrounds. It has been moved around often and holds up very well. 100% recommend for anyone looking for an inexpensive and durable green screen!

It does 100% what it is supposed to do. You do have to iron it out so it can be a smooth cloth. Once the wrinkles is out it should do its purpose and work correctly.

I can’t believe all the complainers…”it’s wrinkled”, “it didn’t come with the stand”, “I burned a hole in it”…jeez. If you want a professional grade backdrop, you’re going to have to pay professional grade prices. For 10 bucks, this is a great backdrop for an amateur photographer. I’ve bought much worse on Amazon. This isn’t one of those vinyl tablecloth backdrops. It’s a poly fabric. Yes, it comes folded up and creased. That’s part of how they’re able to offer it so cheap. The seller prints clear and detailed instructions on the packaging about removing the creases. I did a quick pass with the iron and was able to remove the worst of them. If you burn it, that’s not the seller’s fault. Have realistic expectations and you won’t be disappointed. UPDATE: I’ve used the blue, green and white. Blue and green work great, but the white is not opaque. I took off a star for this. Also, this IS washable. I got some stains on my white one that were very noticeable. I put it in a dishpan with some laundry detergent, and hung it to dry outside. Bonus: I ironed it while it was still damp and it came out better than when I ironed it right out of the package. The pics of the backdrops on the ironing board are after washing.
